Computer Aided Clinical Trials for Implantable Cardiac Devices

Abstract

This paper develops a computer-aided clinical-trial framework for implantable cardiac devices by combining physiological models, prior trial data, and Bayesian analysis. Applied to the RIGHT study, the virtual-cohort approach estimates inappropriate-therapy rates and shows how modeling can supplement expensive clinical trials.
