Prospective Students
Q: What research areas do you work on?
My research lies at the intersection of computer security and machine learning, with a focus on similarity learning and building robust and reliable ML systems for real-world security problems.
Q: What are you looking for in prospective students?
I look for motivated and curious students who enjoy exploring research questions and developing solutions.
I value strong logical and critical thinking skills, as well as a genuine willingness to learn and grow through research.
Our work involves substantial machine learning and data analysis, so a solid programming background and basic familiarity with ML concepts are helpful.
An interest in computer security is also important, but no prior experience in security hacking is expected.
Q: What should I do if I am interested in working with you?
The best place to start is to read several of our recent papers. If you are interested,
please email me a brief introduction, your CV, and a short description of your research interests or background.
Due to the volume of emails I receive, I may not be able to respond to all inquiries.
Q: Can master’s or undergraduate students join your group?
Yes. I enjoy working with motivated master’s and undergraduate students who are interested in research.
If you are currently a student at ShanghaiTech, you are welcome to reach out by email or take my class to learn more about potential research opportunities.
